(Course Requirements) |
1. Requirements for Doctoral Degree Program |
The main requirements of D. Eng. degree are (1) three years of
residency, which may be shortened in case of outstanding research
achievement; (2) successful completion of minimum of 10 credits;
(3) submission of a Doctoral dissertation; and (4) oral defense
of doctoral thesis.
The 10 credits are acquired from common lectures, advanced lectures,
and preparation and submission of thesis (4 credits). Note that
the common lectures and advanced lectures must be taken within
three years from admission, obligatorily.

2. Degree Conferred |
A student who has completed the doctoral course program shall
be conferred a degree of Doctor of Engineering, in accordance with
the field of research he/she has studied and the department in which
he/she has enrolled. |
3. Long Absence, Return, and Withdrawal |
A long absence from the school caused by illness or other inevitable
problems can be permitted on request for a period of two months
or more not exceeding one year. A completed request form approved
by both the advisory professor and the head of the department must
be submitted to the Graduate School Administration Office. This
period of absence does not include in his/her course's period of
study in the Graduate School. When a student returns to the Graduate
School, he/she must submit a completed notice form approved by both
the Advisory professor and the head of the department to the Graduate
School Student Support Office.
When a student withdrew from the Graduate School due to illness
or other inevitable problems, he/she must submit a completed request
form approved by both the Advisory professors and the head of
the department to the Graduate School Student Support Office.
