6. Application Procedure

At first the entry sheet, the following number 6.2 and 6.3 (electric medium is accepted) must be submitted to the host professor before the deadline on February 4, 2011. After the pre-selection by the entry sheet an original and a copy of the following documents must be submitted to the host professor before the deadline on March 11, 2011: (All of these documents MUST ARRIVE by the deadline.) All of the following documents must be sent by registered air mail.

	6.1	Completed Application Form (use the format supplied).
	6.2	Original Master's Degree Certificate and Bachelor's Degree Certificate or a certified letter from the postgraduate university at which the applicant is currently enrolled, stating the expected graduation date.
	6.3	Official Academic Transcript of undergraduate and graduate school records.
	6.4	School record that proves the applicants is excellent in the final alma mater. (Grade scale shown the applicant痴 grade clearly, for example, GPA, Classification of ABC, Concrete rank (Xi/X) etc )
	6.5	A photocopy of Master's Thesis. If the thesis is not written in English, please attach a summary in English, on A4-size paper, to the thesis. Copies of any academic research publications in English are also acceptable with the thesis. An applicant who was not required to write a thesis for the Master's degree must state this in his or her application form and submit a copy of any academic research papers instead of the thesis.
	6.6	Two letter of recommendations preferably, the applicant's supervising professor, other teaching staff, or supervisor in the employing body with a personal knowledge of the applicant.
	6.7	Certificate of Citizenship or Proof of Residence in the applicant's home country, i. e. census registry, Passport (photocopy), or other proof of citizenship.
	6.8	Letter of recommendation by the Dean or Head of the institution /employing body addressed President of Kyushu University.
	6.9	2 photographs (6ﾗ4cm; upper front figure without hat, taken within the last six months). Name and nationality must be indicated on the reverse side. One photograph must be fixed at the specified place on the application form, and the other must be in an envelope.
	6.10	Certificate of official English proficiency such as TOEFL, TOEIC, Cambridge, etc. (unnecessary if you are a native speaker of English)

7. Caution
	7.1	The payment of scholarship to an enrolled student may be terminated and admission can be canceled any time after enrollment if:
		7.1.1 Those who hold or are to receive a Master's degree awarded by a postgraduate school outside Japan by September 30, 2011. 7.1.2 The pledge declared to the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology is broken. 7.1.3 He or she has been subjected to a disciplinary action or judged by the faculty to be unable to continue the program.
	7.2	Successful applicants are expected to learn and understand the geography, climate, customs and habits of Japan as well as the general features and conditions of Kyushu University in advance. Thesis work is to be carried out in English, but students are expected to understand Japanese for daily use.
