Guidelines for Course Study |
In graduate school, every student is assigned to a specific department,
and a standard course (Japanese) student takes his/her study programs
according to the curriculum of each department. However, a student
of International Special Course can choose his/her study programs
not only in his/her department but also from the curriculum of other
departments. |
1. Guidelines and rules for Doctoral
Degree Program |
Subjects required for the Doctoral Degree Program include Seminar
(4 credits) and 6 credits (2 x 3) from common lectures and advanced
lectures giving a total of 10 credits. |
2. Submission of Study Plan |
Each student is required to submit his/her study plan, approved
by his/her Advisory professor to the Graduate School Student Support
Office within 3 weeks after the semester starts. The plan must include
all the subjects he/she intends to take both lectures and seminars
during the semester.
The subjects can be approved if a student has registered them
in his/her study plan at the beginning of the semester.
Addition or withdrawal of the registered subjects may be allowed
on written request with the approval of the student's Advisory
professor and the professor responsible for the lecture.
A student must notify the Graduate School Student Support Office
when he/she should delay submitting his/her study plan by some
unavoidable circumstances.
|
3. Evaluation |
A student's achievement on study programs (except seminars or
laboratory work) is evaluated through examination or written report
at the end of each semester following the grading system such as:
100-80 (excellent), 79-70 (good), 60 and above (pass), and 59 and below (fail).
A student is informed of his/her result of evaluation for each
semester by the Graduate School Student Support Office or the Department Office.
|
4. Thesis and Evaluation |
Thesis submission, presentation and evaluation (including the
final examination) are scheduled by each department.
The schedule for the International Special Course could be specially
arranged.
|
5. Japanese language Program |
A Japanese language Course is arranged for the foreign students
by the International Student Center. A student who wishes to attend
the program may get information from the Graduate School Student Support Office. |
